Because it is light-weight, strong, non-combustible, and easy to install CFS has quickly become the Material of choice for low rise multi-unit residential construction. The material itself also easy to customize in order to meet your engineering needs.
Along with all the customization comes one of the frustrating things that I have faced when working with CFS. All the pieces and parts required to create assemblies that convey complex designs, are accurate for coordination and are easy to build from.
Creating details and shop drawings for CFS consists of aligning and locking multiple pieces and parts that many times end up being one-off details that are not connected to your project settings.
This can be a very time-consuming process but it does not have to be.

Computational BIM and Computational design are not one in the same. They do both use a combination of logic, math, and to access, manage and modify data, extrapolate algorithms. So once you get a handle of one of them it is pretty easy to move to the other and to also use them together to create dynamic, accurate Data-Driven BIM Models. Computational Design Computational BIM
